Alcatel-Lucent has opened a Customer Network Center in Japan, with the stated goal of allowing operators and enterprise customers a chance to co-create new high-speed broadband and cloud-based services.

The new facility will also showcase new cloud networking and other trends to customers. On display will be the vendor's CloudBand NFV technology and SDN offerings from its Nuage Networks subsidiary.

The center will provide remote access to Alcatel-Lucent’s Central NFV Competency Center in the US, allowing for demos and interoperability testing.

“The mission of the Japan Customer Network Center is to support in an extremely collaborative manner and develop concrete customer projects involving solutions that can be rolled out using the latest innovations and cloud networks,” Alcatel Lucet Japan president Nicolas Bouverot said.

“Customers will be able to ask all the questions necessary to gain understanding at each of the four stages of decision making from early customer engagement, to requirement specification, through Proof of Concept, and finally, preparation for production release.”
