Cellcos losing battle for MNC cash

With mobile operators failing to address a number of concerns that multinational companies (MNCs) have, they may end up losing out to system integrators and fixed operators for future MNC convergence and integration projects. An Ovum/Enterprise VPN Users Association survey reveals that mobile operators do not seem to understand the complex needs of MNCs, particularly with regard to international roaming. Instead of having multinational contracts, MNCs need to conduct negotiations on a country-to-country basis, making the process tedious and incompatible with CIOs' efforts to centralize most of an MNC's operations. With the MNCs' loyalty to mobile operators already low, this perceived lack of cooperation on critical issues may further bring down the MNCs' trust on mobile operators.
