Dynamic SIM allocation

For most wireless service providers, the Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card supply chain process requires allocation of identifiers, such as the International Mobile Subscriber Identity(IMSI), to the SIM card before an order is placed with the manufacturer. This pre-allocation of SIM identifiers is a constraint that has logistical, economic and customer service disadvantages.

And, in today's demanding competitive environment, removing the constraint is all the more important. The pre-allocation of SIM identifiers has the effect of limiting the distribution and the use of the SIM card. There are a variety of situations, each one making the SIM supply chain inflexible, and leading to greater complexity
