Equinix has added 16 new customers to its Equinix Carrier Ethernet Exchange, a global, network-neutral service that improves quality and removes the cost and complexity of facilitating commercial transactions between Layer 2 Ethernet networks.

Equinix has also extended the service to Amsterdam, Frankfurt and Paris, and launched a new online portal called Marketplace for Equinix Carrier Ethernet Exchange that connects buyers and sellers of Ethernet-based services globally.

Carriers can promote wholesale Ethernet services to other carriers by creating profiles, listing qualifications, uploading ‘lit building’ lists (in map or list views), and responding to requests for quotes.
