China Telecom has launched 3G CDMA services in 52 cities, including eight of China\'s 10 largest cities. Huawei said it performed the rollout.

BT\'s Media and Broadcast division has signed agreements to become the global network supplier for New Delhi Television (NDTV) and to carry fellow Indian network UTV\'s flagship movie channel to the US.

NSN said it will set up a telecom equipment distribution hub in Indonesia. It will be NSN\'s first such facility within ASEAN.

Telenor Pakistan has contracted NSN to upgrade its mobile network. The contract has a five-year term, but financial details were not disclosed.

The Asia (ex-Japan) PC market fell 5% year-on-year in Q1, yet the portable PC market grew 12% year-on-year thanks to strong sales in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, IDC said.

Nokiasaid it had sold its mobile TV unit to Indian company Wipro, with the company wanting to focus on the consumer end of the mobile TV market, not the business-to-business end.
