ShoZu signs an agreement with Atlantic Records that will make use of the mobile channel to advance the label's street marketing efforts. Under the deal, select bands will be equipped with ShoZu-enabled camera phones that allow one-click uploading of photos and video clips.

Google drops the invitation-only policy for Gmail and made the free email service available to anyone. The firm said Gmail sign-ups are now open worldwide and that there will be no more waiting time for that free Google email account.

RIM and AT&T team up to offer the new BlackBerry 8800 for the US market. AT&T will be the first wireless carrier in North America to launch the BlackBerry 8800 when it begins offering it across its wireless retail and business channels on February 21.
