VHA will name the winning vendor of its up to A$1b ($926m) managed services and core network 2G/3G contract later this week, a spokesperson said.

KT is in talks with Intel and Samsung Electronics to form a joint venture firm to export WiBro outside South Korea, reports the Korea Times.

Packet One Networks has awarded ZTE a turnkey contract worth $76.8m for the third phase rollout of its Wimax network in Malaysia.

Idea Cellular has posted a 4.5% year on year increase in first quarter net profit of 2.66 billion rupee ($60m), on 14% higher revenue of 33.47 billion rupee.

HP has expanded its telecom consulting portfolio to help service providers “design and manage enterprise-class transformation projects.”

Cable & Wireless Worldwide has commissioned its own backhaul network in Hong Kong. It also says it has been awarded a unified carrier license by the Hong Kong regulator.
