HK company aims to transform IoT displays

Hong Kong based Solomon Systech has launched a new integrated circuit (IC) technology that promises to transform displays for smart devices.

Solomon Systech's new Touch and Display IC has the potential to make passive matrix organic light-emitting diode (PMOLED) panels for smart devices thinner, lighter, cheaper and more efficient to manufacture.

The patent pending solution integrates touch and display micro-electronics into a single chip for the first time on PMOLED display panels.

The technology has a range of applications for wearables, smart home appliances, healthcare devices and other IoT devices. It supports four-zone touch detection, gesture identification and operation with gloves or wet fingers.

Solomon Systech is a long-standing resident of Hong Kong Science and Technology Park, a government-owned accelerator and co-working space.
