Intel Corp has undergone a significant structural overhaul that combines its two biggest product divisions.

Under the restructure, the PC chip division will merge with that for mobile devices.

The head of one division Pat Gelsinger, the co-manager of PC chip supply group has left Intel to take a role with EMC Corp. Gelsinger’s division accounted for 55% of Intel’s total revenue.

Executive vice president Sean Maloney will run the business and operations of the combined product group, while another executive vice president, Dadi Perlmutter, will manage product development.
