Airservices Australia has contracted with Sensis Corp. to deploy its Advanced - Surface Movement Guidance and Control System (A-SMGCS) at Perth Airport.

This is the fourth airport in Australia to deploy Sensis technology.

Airservices will also be using Sensis' GPS-based VeeLo NextGen units for tracking and identification of vehicles on the airport surface and Sensis Aerobahn airport management tool for the management of ground operations.

Sensis A-SMGCS fuses data from multiple surveillance sources, including Sensis Multistatic Dependent Surveillance (MDS) multilateration, Sensis SMRi X-band radar, and Sensis VeeLo NextGen vehicle locator units to deliver data to the Sensis Multi-Sensor Data Processor (MSDP).

The MSDP fuses the surveillance data to provide air traffic controllers in the tower with visible and audible collision prediction alerts.
