Samsung launches multimedia handset

Samsung Electronics launched its first 8-megapixel smartphone dubbed Samsung Anycall innov8 i8510H. Designed for mobile multimedia, the new handset is also enabled with GPS, pre-embedded 3D games, Wi-Fi, and high-speed data download.

Equipped with a 2.8-inch 16M color LCD, built-in 16GB Flash memory and an external memory slot that supports up to 16G, the new handset uses auto-focus, blink detection, smile shot, and face detection as well as Video Editor.

The unit also supports DivX, H.264 , WMV, Real Video and MPEG4, and it comes pre-embedded with the games Asphalt3 and FIFA08.

Tagged at HK$6,380 (about $823), the innov8 i8510H is also Digital Living Network Alliance-certified to enable users to connect with different digital devices over a home network.
