The service assurance market generated $2.55 billion in revenue in 2011, up 7% from $2.4 billion in 2010, according to Analysys Mason’s latest report.

Research director Patrick Kelly said the market is becoming more consolidated, with the top six suppliers accounting for 53% of revenue in 2011, and the top-three representing 35% of the market.

Tektronix was the largest supplier in the service assurance market with a 13.7% market share. IBM, JDS Uniphase, HP, CA and Telcordia Technologies follow with 13.6%, 7.4%, 7.2%, 6.0% and 4.6% respectively.

“Tektronix’s market share increased because it continued to expand and won many multi-year deals each worth $10 million with Tier 1 mobile (operators) that are upgrading 3G/4G technology,” Kelly said.
