SingTel to offer NFC at Singapore's top retailer

SingTel has expanded its Dash NFC mobile payment service to cover Singapore's largest retail chain, and has appointed Amdocs for a digital transformation project in both Singapore and Australia.

The operator announced that customers can now use the Dash payment app to pay for purchase at over 200 NTUC FairPrice retail outlets.

These include FairPrice supermarkets, FairPrice Xtra hypermarkets and standalone Cheers outlets in Singapore.

SingTel has introduced a new NFC payment feature called Dash Tap and Pay that is currently available exclusively at FairPrice and Cheers stores.

In a promotional move, the company will offer shoppers paying with Dash at the outlets 5% cashback with no minimum spend until the end of the year.

The operator said Dash now has over 20,000 acceptance points in Singapore across multiple major retailers.

SingTel separately announced it has selected Amdocs for a business transformation project aimed at replacing legacy and third-party systems with an online self-service and commerce platforms.

SingTel and Australian subsidiary Optus will seek to use the new platform to provide a comprehensive and differentiated digital service experience for customers.
