Timothy Chen takes helm at Telstra International Group

Telstra has appointed Tim Chen president and group MD of Telstra International Group, the Australian telco's Asian and trans-continental business.

He replaces Tarek Robbiati, who left Telstra to take a CEO role in the Australian financial services industry.

Chen, the first Chinese national to hold a CEO leadership team position at Telstra, assumed his new role Tuesday. He will hold offices in Hong Kong and Beijing, reporting to Telstra CEO David Thodey, the company said.


Chen joined Telstra as a member of the board of directors in March 2012, having been identified for his technology, strategic and business experience working with private and public sector organizations.

Prior to that, he was Beijing-based partner with international private equity firm GL Capital Group. He has also held senior executive roles for international firms including Microsoft, Motorola and AT&T Bell Laboratories.

Brocade names new head for South East Asia
Brocadehas named Lily Foo as head of the South East Asia region.

Foo joined Brocade in 2008 and was most recently senior manager of distribution sales and programs for APAC. Prior to Brocade, Foo has associated with Datacraft, Avaya, Verizon (MCI Worldcom) and SingTel.

She will be based in Singapore and report directly to VP for Asia Pacific Charlie Foo.

Amtel taps sales VP for Apac and Japan

Richard Lin has joined AtmelCorporation as VP of sales for Asia Pacific and Japan. He will be based in Hong Kong.

Prior to joining Atmel, Lin held senior sales management positions at TriQuint Semiconductor, most recently as senior director of worldwide geographical sales.

Prior to that, he served as a marketing manager at a start-up DSL company, Centillium Communications and had held a variety of engineering positions at Mitsubishi Electric Corporation.
