ZTE has launched its super HD 4K set-top box (STB) product, just at the heels of launching the Sichuan branch of China Telecom’s 4K super HD ITV service.

China Telecom is the first telecom operator to provide a super HD 4K service, with ZTE collaborating with Sichuan Telecom on its development.

The super HD 4K STB promises high performance and uses a 64-byte system solution, Cortex-A9 architecture and a four-core CPU.

The STB uses the latest Android 4.4 operating system, and supports the H.265 video-encoding standard that offers 4K ultra HD resolution videos.

It includes Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, allowing users to avoid the use of cables while significantly improving user experience.
