Vietnamese operator Viettel has awarded ZTE a 20% share of 3G rollout contracts.

Under the agreement ZTE will supply SDR solutions for the network rollout, which is scheduled for completion in September.

Viettel was awarded a 3G license in April, along with Vinaphone, Mobiphone and a JV between Hanoi Telecom and EVN Telecom.

ZTE and Viettel have been testing an HSPA+ network since early May.

"ZTE\'s partnership with Viettel to build its UMTS network in Vietnam lays a concrete
foundation for our long-term cooperation with Viettel," said Qian Qiang, ZTE\'s Southeast Asia general manager.
