Starting his fighting training at the sports boarding school Five Directions of the World, Magomed Magomedov, who was sent to boarding school for skipping classes, slowly turned into a mixed martial professional, moving from M-1 to ACB and now Bellator where he is currently the number four ranked Bantamweight. His career highlight has been his controversial split decision win over Petr Yan to claim the inaugural ACB Bantamweight championship in March 2016 In Moscow. The bout, contested on the front foot by both fighters, was voted ACB fight of the year. Magomed Magomedov lost the rematch the following year for his first professional loss. “Tiger” debuted in Bellator in late 2020 and is 3-2 in the promotion. Last December, the 31-year-old lost to Patchy Mix in the semi-final of the Bellator Bantamweight World Grand Prix tournament.
