29-Year-Old British Boxer Dies During His First Professional Fight

British newspaper Daily Mail reported that 29-year-old British boxer Sherif Lawal died from a punch received from an opponent during his first professional fight.

According to the source, Lawal's opponent Malam Varela hit the boxer in the temple and he collapsed, unconscious. The fight was stopped and doctors attempted to administer first aid, but Sherif died upon arrival at the hospital.

It is reported that Lawal had been boxing since 2018.
