Golden Boy promotions head Oscar De La Hoya confessed that he received death threats in the last week before the fight between Ryan Garcia and Gervonta Davis.

My security team told me - 'boss, we gotta get the f--- out of here' - because I received death threats. You guys don’t know this, I received death threats throughout the whole week and [my security team] just said it was simply too dangerous, so we got out of there.

Davis and Garcia fought on the night of April 23 in Las Vegas, USA. The fight ended with Gervonta's victory by TKO in the seventh round.

Garcia, 24, had previously fought Javier Fortuna. Their fight took place in July, 2022. In that fight, Ryan won by TKO in the sixth round. He has 23 wins (19 by knockout) and one loss.

Davis, 28, fought against Hector Garcia in January of this year. That fight ended in Gervonta's favor by TKO in the ninth round. He has 29 wins (27 by knockout) and no losses.
