The head of Golden Boy promotional company Oscar De La Hoya said that he used banned substances and did not remember posing in women's underwear. Recall that afterward the pictures quickly appeared in the newspapers.

I’ll tell you, we got that girl here from New York that leaked those photos. I’m not gonna get into it, but we found her somewhere in Costa Rica hiding out and she said the truth. I was loaded. I just can’t remember. I was drugged up. I was drinking this and that. No recollection. I think I sold more pay-per-views because of it which was crazy. You can imagine all the feelings I had and confusion. The guilt and this and that. Those were some pretty confusing times for me.
De La Hoya last fought in 2008, suffering a loss to Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao. Oscar made the decision to withdraw from the bout after the eighth round.
Da La Hoya made his professional debut in a fight with compatriot Lamar Williams in November 1992. This fight ended in favor of Oscar by knockout in the first round. He has 39 wins (30 by knockout) and six losses in professional boxing.
