Inoue Knocks Out Fulton To Become New WBC And WBO Super Bantamweight Champion

Four-division world champion Naoya Inoue of Japan defeated American Stephen Fulton at a boxing night held on July 25 in Tokyo (Japan).

The fight ended with the victory of the Japanese by technical knockout in the eighth round. Thus, Inoue became the new WBC and WBO super bantamweight champion.

Inoue, 30, previously entered the ring in December 2022 against Paul Butler. In that confrontation, Naoya won by knockout in the 11th round. He has 25 wins (22 by knockout) and no losses on his record.

Fulton, 29, entered the ring last June against his compatriot Daniel Roman. Stephen won that fight by unanimous decision of the judges. He has 21 wins (eight by knockout) and now one defeat.
