Jermell Charlo May Lose WBC Super Welterweight Title

Former undisputed world champion in the super welterweight division Jermell Charlo will soon become the so-called "champion in recess" according to the WBC. This was reported by American journalist Dan Rafael.

Thus, the recently announced fight between Sebastian Fundora and Sergei Bogachuk, which is scheduled for March 30, will be a fight for a WBC title in the super welterweight division.

Charlo last fought against Saul Alvarez in October 2023 in Las Vegas. In that fight, Jermell was defeated by unanimous decision of the judges. He has 35 wins (19 by knockout), two losses and one draw in his professional boxing career.
