IBF and WBA super-bantamweight champion Murojon Akhmadaliev fought Marlon Tapales on the night of April 9 in San Antonio.
The match lasted the whole distance and ended in Akhmadaliev's defeat by split decision of the judges. Thus, he lost his IBF and WBA belts.
Akhmadaliev had his previous fight against Ronny Rios in June, 2022. In this fight Murojon won by TKO in the 12th round. Now he has 11 wins (eight by TKO) and one defeat. Tapales has 37 wins (19 by knockout) and three defeats.
