Shakur Stevenson To Fight Artem Harutyunyan For WBC Lightweight Title

The fight for the WBC lightweight title between American boxer Shakur Stevenson and German of Armenian origin Artem Harutyunyan will take place on 6 July in Newark. This was reported by ESPN journalist Mike Coppinger.

Shakur Stevenson and Artem Harutyunyan are finalizing a deal for a July 6 fight in Newark, New Jersey, for Stevenson's WBC lightweight title.

Stevenson last fought against Edwin De Los Santos in November 2023. In that fight, Shakur won by unanimous decision of the judges and won the WBC lightweight division title. He has 21 wins (ten by knockout) and no losses.

Harutyunyan last entered the ring in July 2023, losing to Frank Martin by unanimous decision. He has 12 wins (seven by knockout) and one loss.
