Wilder Names Muhammad Ali As His Idol

Former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder responded to a question about who is an idol for him in boxing.

Deontay said:

He was loved because of the man that he was and the work that he provided in the community, the service, the unselfishness that he provided to the people. I have nothing but respect for that, he is one of my mentors, that is my idol in boxing.

Ali's last fight was against Trevor Berbick in December 1982. Muhammad was defeated in this confrontation by unanimous decision of judges. He has 56 wins (37 by knockout) and five defeats on his account. Recall that Muhammad Ali died in June 2016 at the age of 74 years.
