Chef Salt Bae Tells why He Stepped Out On Pitch After 2022 World Cup Final

Turkish chef Nusret Gökçe, better known as Salt Bae, spoke out about his appearance on the field after the World Cup 2022 final in Qatar.

The chef was photographed with the Argentine players who won the World Cup and also took the World Cup, causing outrage on social media. FIFA reported that it has launched an investigation following Gökçe's coming to the pitch.

Salt Bae, quoted by The Times
I love Argentina, I've lived there. I came to support the team. A lot of people came to the restaurant. I didn't feel like a stranger. It was a special moment. I would never go on the pitch again during the World Cup. I never, ever wanted to overshadow anything. I didn't like the attention. I didn't kick anyone, steal anything.

Argentina beat France in the final (3-3, 4-2 on penalties). Argentina won the tournament for the third time in its history, having previously become world champions in 1978 and 1986.

The tournament's best player was Lionel Messi, the Sky Blue's striker and captain.

The forward had seven games, scored seven goals and gave three assists in the championship. The tournament in Qatar was held from November 20 to December 18, 2022.
