De Gea sets Manchester United's record for most games without conceding a goal

On Sunday, February 26, the final game in the EFL Cup was held. Manchester United met with Newcastle United at Wembley Stadium in London. The meeting ended with a confident 2-0 win for the hosts.

Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea played his 181st game for the club without conceding any goals, breaking United's record in all competitions.

The Spaniard has surpassed the record of legendary goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel, who had 180 games without goals.

The 32-year-old has played for the team since the summer of 2011. He has a total of 522 appearances for Manchester United.

The Red Devils won their debut trophy under Erik ten Hag. It was the sixth League Cup victory for them and also the first trophy since 2017.
