Football Association Of England Accuses Tonali Of 50 Betting Rules Violations

Midfielder of Newcastle and the Italian national team Sandro Tonali has been accused by the Football Association of England (FA) of committing 50 violations of betting rules in October 2023.

The statement on the association's official website says:

Sandro Tonali has been charged with misconduct in relation to alleged breaches of The FA’s Betting Rules. It’s alleged that the Newcastle United midfielder breached FA Rule E8 50 times by placing bets on football matches between 12 August 2023 and 12 October 2023. Sandro Tonali has until 5 April 2024 to respond.

On October 26, 2023, France Press reported that the 23-year-old midfielder was disqualified for ten months for admitting to placing bets on football matches during his time at Milan and will thus miss the 2024 European Championship.

On October 28, the Magpies confirmed the player's disqualification on the club's official website. Tonali was supposed to return to the field on August 27, 2024.
