Garcia To Pay Haney $1.5 Million For Failed Weigh-In, Fight Still On

The lightweight bout between Ryan Garcia and WBC lightweight champion Devin Haney will proceed as planned on April 21st, despite the news that Garcia missed the weigh-in by one and a half kilograms.

Following negotiations between their teams, it was decided that Garcia will pay Haney one and a half million dollars from his own purse.

Haney's last fight was against Regis Prograis in December 2023, which he won by unanimous decision, bringing his record to 31 wins (15 by knockout) with no losses. Garcia's most recent fight was against Oscar Duarte in December 2023 in Houston, USA, which he won by knockout in the eighth round. Garcia has 24 victories (20 by knockout) and one defeat on his record.
