Just Fontaine, world record holder in number of goals in a World Cup, dies at 89

The legendary ex-footballer of the French national team and the record holder of the number of goals scored in one World Cup, Just Fontaine passed away at the age of 89.

The death of the famous athlete was announced on March 1.

Fontaine scored 13 goals at the 1958 World Cup and holds the record for most goals in a single World Cup. The Frenchman played 21 matches for the national team and scored 30 goals.

During his career Fontaine played in Morocco's Casablanca, as well as the French Nice and Reims.
