Man City Caught in Financial Fraud Scandal

Manchester City has illegally received £30 million during the season 2012/2013.

According to The Times, an unknown man from Abu Dhabi has made two tranches of £15 million to the English club's account. The payments were formalized as sponsorship payments from the company Etisalat. UEFA believes the payments were disguised payments from the club's owners.

Manchester City won the English league title with 89 points in the EPL. Pep Guardiola's side beat Manchester United 2-1 in the FA Cup final. In the Champions League final, Manchester City beat Simone Inzaghi's Inter 1-0. The Citizens claimed a treble last season.
