Argentina and French PSG striker Lionel Messi, 35, said the 2022 World Cup in Qatar would be the last  in his career.

Lionel Messi to Marca
The more I played, the better I felt. I didn't do anything special, I took care of myself just like I did my whole career. Of course, this is my last World Cup and my last chance to fulfill this great dream.

The Argentina team will play in Group C at the World Cup in Qatar, which runs from November 20 to December 18. In the group stage, the Argentine national team will play with Saudi Arabia (November 22), Mexico (November 26) and Poland (November 30).

Messi has played for Argentina since August 2005. In 2014, the striker won the silver medal at the World Cup in Brazil as part of the national team. In total, the Argentine played 165 games in the national team, scoring 91 goals and giving 52 assists.
