Mateo is eight years old. Lionel Messi has two more sons - 11-year-old Thiago and five-year-old Ciro. The two older children are already playing for children's teams in their age categories.
Lionel Messi has admitted that Mateo is a Real Madrid fan. He plays under the number seven, which is associated with former Royal Club striker Cristiano Ronaldo.
