Rebecca Welch Becomes First Woman Appointed As Reserve Referee For EPL Match

The English Premier League (EPL) match between Fulham and Manchester United on Saturday, November 4, will feature 37-year-old Rebecca Welch, who will become the first female referee in the league's history.

Welch has been appointed as reserve referee for the match. There were only three women on refereeing crews for EPL matches before - Wendy Toms, Sian Massey-Ellis and Natalie Espinall. Massey-Ellis will serve as a VAR assistant in this match.

Earlier it became known that the first female coach in English football Hannah Dingley left the post after two weeks.
