Roma Announce Sacking Mourinho As Head Coach

The press service of Roma announced the dismissal of the team's head coach Jose Mourinho. The 60-year-old Portuguese had been in charge of the Roman team since 2021.

Owners of the club Dan and Ryan Friedkin said in a statement:

We would like to thank José on behalf of all of us at AS Roma for his passion and efforts since his arrival at the club. We will always have great memories of his tenure at Roma, but we believe that an immediate change is in the best interests of the club.

The Roman club intends to announce the appointment of a new head coach in the near future.

Under Mourinho the Giallorossi reached the Europa League final in the season-2022/23, and also won the Conference League-2021/22. Roma had 138 matches, winning 68 victories with 40 defeats and 30 draws together with Mourinho.

This season, after 20 rounds in the Italian league, Roma are in ninth place with 29 points.
