Thiago Silva Becomes Fourth Player In EPL History To Score At Age 39 Or Older

Chelsea London defender Thiago Silva has become the fourth player in the history of the English Premier League (EPL) to score a goal at the age of 39 or older, the Opta Sports Telegram channel has calculated.

The 39-year-old celebrated a goal in the match of the 12th round of the EPL against Manchester City (4:4). Previously, only three players of the English championship managed to do that. They are Dean Windass, Teddy Sheringham and Ryan Giggs.

Silva has been playing for Chelsea since 2020. He has played 127 games for the Blues, scoring six goals and making four assists. The Brazilian has scored one goal in 12 games this season.
