New Zealand fighter Israel Adesanya suffered his first knockout loss in MMA, losing to Brazilian Alex Pereira by TKO in the fifth round.

Adesanya faced Pereira at UFC 281 November 12 in New York City. As a result of that loss, Israel lost his UFC middleweight championship belt.

In July of this year, Adesanya stepped into the octagon against American Jared Cannonier at UFC 276. Israel won that fight by unanimous decision. He has 23 wins and two losses in mixed martial arts under his belt.
