The UFC's No. 3 ranked middleweight Jared Cannonier will be the backup fighter in the title fight between Israel Adesanya and Sean Strickland.

Cannonier last stepped into the octagon against Marvin Vettori in June of this year at UFC on ESPN 47. That fight went the full distance and ended in Jared's favor by unanimous decision of the judges. He has 17 wins and six losses on his record.
