Ex-UFC fighter Baroni faces 30-50 years in prison for killing his girlfriend

Former UFC fighter Phil Baroni, 46, was taken to a state prison in Tepic, Mexico. Recall that Baroni was arrested in early January on charges of killing his girlfriend.

The hearing in Baroni's case will start on January 9. He faces between 30 and 50 years in prison if proven guilty. This was reported by journalist Carlos Contreras Legaspi on social media.

Baroni last fought against Wang Sai of China in September 2019 at the Rebel FC 9 tournament, in that fight Phil was defeated by a choke in the first round.

Baroni last fought in the UFC against his compatriot Brad Tavares in January 2011. That fight ended in a first-round knockout loss to Phil. He has 16 wins and 19 losses on his record.
