Fighter with vitiligo signs a contract with UFC and will replace Kutateladze in a fight with Moises

Brazilian lightweight Melquizael Costa, who has vitiligo, a rare skin disorder, signed a contract with the UFC and will make his UFC debut on January 21 at the Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro at UFC 283.

Costa's opponent will be compatriot Thiago Moises, who was supposed to face Guram Kutateladze, but the Georgian fighter was forced to withdraw from the fight due to a staph infection.

Costa, 26, had his last fight in November, 2022, at LFA 147, beating Jose Cleiton de Melo by TKO in the third round. He has 18 wins and four losses under his belt.

The 27-year-old Moises defeated Christos Giagos by first-round choke at UFC on ESPN 38 last June. He has 15 wins and six losses under his belt.
