Former UFC Champion Adesanya Avoids Jail Time For Drunk Driving In New Zealand

Former UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya avoided jail time for a DUI offense in New Zealand. This is reported by the New Zealand Herald.

Adesanya, who was facing up to three months in jail or a fine of NZ$4,500, pleaded guilty. The fighter was ordered to pay NZ$1,500 to charity, refrain from driving for six months and enroll in an anti-drunk driving course.

Adesanya expressed his gratitude to the judge in the courtroom.

Adesanya, 34, last fought in September 2023 at UFC 293, losing to Sean Strickland by unanimous decision. He has 24 wins and three losses on his record.
