Former UFC Fighter Rivera Explains Why He Decided To Join Police Force

American mixed martial arts fighter Jimmie Rivera, who previously competed in the UFC's bantamweight division, explained his decision to join the police force.

I won’t say I have ADHD, but I can’t stop. I always have to work. I’ve always got to do something. I’m all about the grinding. … It’s also very bad mentally, to not do anything. You see people who retire and they don’t do anything. They end up getting right back into it or they mentally degrade and don’t look the best any more.

Rivera had a bout against Pedro Munhoz at UFC Fight Night 186 in February 2021. In this confrontation, Jimmie was defeated by unanimous decision of judges. He has 23 wins and six losses on his record.
