Former UFC fighter Sonnen refuses to plead guilty to battering

The trial of former UFC fighter Chael Sonnen is set for April 5 after the American refused to plead guilty to battery.

Sonnen is accused of assaulting several people at the Four Seasons Hotel in Las Vegas last December. It is worth noting that Chael himself hasn't yet commented on the situation.

Sonnen last fought against Brazilian Lyoto Machida in June 2019 at Bellator 222. In that confrontation, Chael was defeated by a technical knockout in the second round.

Sonnen last stepped into the octagon in the UFC against his compatriot Rashad Evans. That fight ended in a first-round TKO loss to Chael. He has 31 wins, 17 losses and one draw on his record.
