Former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov congratulated his cousin Usman Nurmagomedov on winning the Bellator lightweight title on social media.
Usman defeated Brazilian Patricky Freire on Nov. 19, at Bellator 288 in Chicago by unanimous decision of the judges and won the Bellator championship belt.

Usman defeated American Christopher Gonzalez in the first round by a choke in the Bellator 283 tournament this July. Nurmagomedov made his Bellator debut against American Matt Hamill in April, 2021. Usman won that fight by unanimous decision of the judges. He has 16 wins without a single defeat on his record.
