I was told I lost 20 percent of my blood. My artery is damaged. I was told the doctors had never seen anything like that before." It took the doctors two hours to stop the arterial bleeding.

That night, despite the split, Garcia managed to win by unanimous decision over Maheshate. In July, Rafa entered the UFC 277 Octagon to face Drakkar Klose. Garcia lost that fight by unanimous decision of the judges. In total, the Mexican has 12 wins with three losses.
