Mixed martial arts fighter Sherry Ann Schmidt, who competes in the Dead Serious MMA league at flyweight, died in a car accident at the age of 29. Details of the accident are unknown.

Schmidt worked as a model and was also an AMA motocross champion. In her last fight, in March 2023, Schmitt lost to Paige Wilcox by third-round technical knockout. In September 2022, Sherry defeated Sofia Salgado by unanimous decision at Dead Serious 44. She had two wins and two losses under her belt.
