The 44-year-old mixed martial arts veteran, Brazilian fighter Diego Braga was killed by members of the Comando Vermelho criminal gang in Brazil. This was reported on social media by his son, PFL fighter Gabriel Braga.
According to Gabriel, his father's motorcycle was stolen from his garage on Sunday night. Diego Braga decided to go search for his bike in the favela, where he was killed by members of the Comando Vermelho criminal gang.
Diego Braga was the head of the Tropa Thai team in Rio de Janeiro. He coached underprivileged children in the favelas as well as his son, Gabriel Braga, a finalist in the 2023 PFL regular season.
Diego Braga last fought in July 2019 at Future FC 7, defeating Jamil Silveira da Conceicao by unanimous decision. His list of opponents included Charles Oliveira, Milton Vieira and Adriano Martins, all of whom went on to become UFC fighters.
