Popular Canadian rap singer Aubrey Graham, better known as Drake, placed a $700,000 bet shortly before the start of UFC 297 on a win for Sean Strickland in his title fight against Dricus du Plessis.
The fight between Strickland and du Plessis went the full distance and ended in favor of Dricus by split decision of the judges. Thus, he won the championship belt in the middleweight category.
Strickland's record in mixed martial arts includes 28 wins and six losses. Du Plessis has 21 wins and two losses on his record.
