According to witnesses, Anne slapped Dana first and White responded by slapping her in the face several times before they were separated.

I've been saying for years that a guy has no excuse if he lays a hand on a woman, and now I found myself in that situation myself. My wife and I have been together for almost 30 years. We've known each other since we were 12 years old. Obviously, we've been through a lot of crap together, we have three kids, and what happened is terrible. I'm ashamed of it. After this video came out, we showed it to our kids and now we're more focused on our family. People will have their opinions on this, and the opinion of the majority will be the right one - especially in my case. You should never raise your hand to a woman. My wife and I love each other and have been together a long time.

White said the incident, which lasted less than a minute, was alcohol-induced, and he has little recollection of the beginning and aftermath of the conflict. Dana also added that he and his wife have reconciled and will continue their vacation together in Mexico.
