UFC Vegas 89: Brazilian Fighter Andre Lima Awarded $50,000 Bonus For Getting Bitten

Brazilian fighter Andre Lima has received a bonus of $50,000 following the UFC Vegas 89 tournament held on March 24 in Las Vegas, USA.

Lima faced his compatriot Igor Severino in the octagon. In this fight, Severino was disqualified for biting his opponent on the arm in the second round. As a result, victory was awarded to Andre. After the fight, UFC President Dana White announced that the fighter had earned the promotion's first-ever bonus for getting bitten - $25,000.

Lima then decided to commemorate this event by getting a tattoo with White's words in the place of the arm, and shared the photo on social media. When the head of the UFC saw this post, he decided to increase Andre's bonus to $50,000.

The "Fight of the Night" bonus went to Jarno Errens and Stephen Nguyen. Errens won that fight by unanimous decision. The "Performance of the Night" bonus was awarded to Payton Talbott, who knocked out Cameron Saaiman, and Fernando Padilla, who defeated Luis Pajuelo by submission.
